truSculpt uses a non-invasive Radio Frequency technology to deliver deep heating up to 45C to the layer of adipose tissue (fat) below the skin. This high heat effectively induces fat cell apoptosis (cell death). The result is body sculpting, fat reduction and skin tightening.

truSculpt is not liposuction, and will not achieve the same results. With this non-invasive procedure, however, there are no risks of surgical complications.

There are no needles, no pushing or pulling of tissue into a vacuum device like there is with Coolsculpt, which uses freezing to crystallize the fat (cryolipolysis), and no pain or numbness that is often associated with that treatment. truSculpt can be easily used on different body areas, whereas Kybella is currently approved only for the submentum (under chin area).

truSculpt is the ideal treatment for both women and men that live a healthy lifestyle but have problem areas that neither a no-carb, no-sugar diet nor any amount of crunches or 5K runs can resolve. Basically anyone who sees a stubborn area such as minor love handles, or a little back fat, or the ‘pooch’ above the front waistline, or even areas of the outer and inner thighs that seem to need a little contouring. Even small areas like a little double chin or extra fat around the tricep upper arm region can be treated to create a more appealing, slimmer look. If your BMI is <28 (you can google how to calculate that by your height/weight/age) then you can benefit from truSculpt. Patients who cannot be treated with truSculpt include: those who have cardiac pacemakers, internal defibrillators, tumors in the target area, or metallic implants in the target area of any kind including joint replacements. Pregnant women should not be treated.

Most truSculpt patients find the procedure comfortable and therapeutic. It feels similar to stepping into a hot jacuzzi or a hot stone massage; you feel the treatment working, essentially the feeling of the “fat being slowly melted away”. The results, however, are seen weeks following the procedure, and often a second (sometimes a third) procedure is needed. There is no need for any type of pain medication, neither topical nor oral, before or after the treatment.

The energy delivered by the treatment induces an immediate inflammatory response, seen as redness, then some swelling, over the 48 hours following treatment. An immediate tightness can be felt following the procedure as well. Truly appreciable visual results, however, are not seen until 4-8 weeks following the procedure, though some very in-shape, younger patients may notice results sooner.

A single procedure should reduce the fat layer in the treatment area by approximately 20%. For more noticeable results, two to three treatments are recommended. They should be spaced appropriately apart 4-8 weeks, based upon the individual’s quickness to notice results. There is no harm in maintenance sessions after the initial treatments as desired, because of the easy non-invasive nature of truSculpt.

truSculpt is a no downtime procedure giving you the freedom to return to your daily activities immediately post treatment.

There should be no facial or body hair in the area, and all piercings removed from the area.
We will take pre-treatment photos and check weight as well (if your dietary habits cause an increase in weight gain from one session to the next, you may require extra treatment sessions to counteract that!).
